IMPLANTS

CI24RE

• World’s most implanted1 and reliable cochlear implant2–4
• Focused spiral ganglion stimulation with modiolar wall electrode placement5
• Contour electrode design for scala tympani insertion6 and preservation of delicate structures
• Optimal hearing performance outcomes7

SURGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS

• Insertion instrument: AOS Forceps (Item# Z60770)
• Requires CI24RE Surgical Kit (Item# Z60523)
• Drill away round window overhang to visualize the true round window
membrane prior to opening the cochlea
• Surgical handle should face inferiorly while inserting electrode with
a single hand, in one motion, until the white marker reaches the
cochleostomy opening
• Use your free hand to stabilize and hold the stylet in place, then
advance the electrode of the stylet until the second silastic rib reaches
the opening of the cochlea
• Once stylet is completely removed, stabilize the lead to prevent
movement of the electrode array prior to releasing the AOS forceps

CI522

The Cochlear Nucleus Profile Series platform is the absolute thinnest cochlear implant available today. The thin design dramatically reduces the implant profile to maximize discretion while contouring nicely to the curvature of the head. This discreet benefit is an important factor not only for parents choosing a cochlear implant for their children but for all cochlear implant candidates regardless of age.
